Symphonie Aqua
System VC

Simple application,
perfect result

Perfection in orthopedic technology starts with the plaster impression

Thanks to the adjustable hydrostatic pressure in the Symphonie Aqua System VC, the anatomy of the residual limb is precisely captured. The plaster impression produced in this way enables patients and technicians to capture the pressure situation in the negative cast under full weight-bearing load. The patient can also provide valuable information on the socket volume, the load distribution on bony structures and any painful areas. Even in this early phase, bony protrusions and sensitive scar tissue can be easily identified under full weight-bearing load. Tedious adjustment of the test socket is no longer necessary. The dedicated VC app provides an individual calculation of the recommended pressure in the cylinder. Thanks to improved efficiency and efficacy, more time is available for adjusting the prosthesis and for patient service.

Your choice:
cylinders for thighs or for lower legs

The Symphonie Aqua System is available in two models:
for caring of the lower leg limb (VC TT) and for the care of femoral amputations (VC TF).

Symphonie Aqua System VC

The Symphonie Aqua System VC TT
(cylinder for lower leg amputations)

The Symphonie Aqua system VC TT provides a precise and detailed impression of soft tissues and bony structures of the lower-extremity limb while under full weight-bearing load. For servicing residual limbs exarticulated at the knee joint, the Aqua Gel cushion supports the

Symphonie Aqua System VC

The Symphonie Aqua System VC TF
(cylinder for femoral amputations)

The Symphonie Aqua System VC TF is designed for patients with transfemoral amputations. The closely fitting membrane allows precise anatomical modeling of the femoral limb under full weight-bearing load. Especially anatomical soft-tissue structures, such as around the ischial ramus, are captured particularly well. We recommend the Symphonie Aqua Lifter for optimal handling (see Accessories).

Symphonie Aqua System VC

Special aspect of the
Symphonie Aqua System VC

By applying the VC control device, the Symphonie Aqua System VC enables one to adjust the optimal pressure in the cylinder. As a result, the physiological compression ratio between the soft tissue and bony parts in the residual limb can be precisely determined while bearing the full body weight.

Symphonie Aqua System VC

The APP

Our free Symphonie VC App was developed in order to acquire an optimal prosthetic fitting at a faster rate. This aids the orthopaedic technician to calculate the recommended pressure in the Symphonie Aqua System VC.

In order to already achieve a properly fitting prosthetic socket at the first impression taking, the Symphonie Aqua System VC makes it possible to regulate the hydrostatic pressure for each patient. Given the following parameters, the orthopaedic technician is able to calculate the recommended pressure with the Symphonie VC App:

  • the patient’s weight
  • the girth of the residual limb at the MPT
  • the firmness of the tissue
  • the athleticism of the patient.

Using the VC control unit, the prevailing pressure can be aligned to the recommended pressure during the care.

FAQ’s – Frequently asked questions about the product

Do I have to do any rework or modification?

An additional volume modification is necessary for all passive systems (SA Basic, Ready, and Gravity). The correct volume is already set for the Symphonie Aqua VC TT and TF systems.

How much do I need to reduce the plaster impression with the Symphonie Aqua VC?

Depending on the pre-cut socket edge proximal, each ML measurement in the supracondylar area must be reduced by 5 mm.

How can I calculate the pressure?

The pressure can be easily calculated by using the free Symphonie Aqua VC App. The link for the download can be found on our website.

Must the patient be capable of standing up for taking the plaster impression?

In order to determine an accurate fitting under a full load, the patient must be able to stand. The objective is to produce an accurately fitting socket for the patient.

Can I transport the VC system?

The Symphonie Aqua VC TT & TF Systems can also be employed for mobile usage. The systems are delivered in convenient cases, which can then be transported without difficulty.

Which types of amputation can I tend to with my SA system?

Trans-femoral amputation and trans-tibial can be serviced. The Symphonie Aqua VC TF System was developed for femoral patients. The Symphonie Aqua VC TT System can be used for tibial patients. Additionally, our systems enable ideal care for patients with knee disarticulation.

Which mobility grade classification can I service?

Mobility grade 1: indoor walker; mobility grade 2: limited outdoor walker; mobility grade 3: unlimited outdoor walker; mobility grade 4: unlimited outdoor walker with especially high demands

Which liner system can or must I use?

There are no restrictions concerning liner systems. We recommend the Symphonie Aqua Liner for providing an accurate fitting.

Can one tend to patients without a liner?

Yes. For this, we recommend the use of a stocking or a thin legging in order to exert a light pre-compression on the tissue.

We will gladly demonstrate the Symphonie Aqua Systems on your premises. Please contact us directly regarding questions or for individual consultation.

Aqua Gel Pad

Aqua Gel Pad

For use in the Symphonie Aqua VC TT system with exarticulations at the knee joint. The closed hydrostatic pad distributes the weight bearing completely evenly over the
anatomical form of the residual limb’s distal end. The partially elastic membrane completely adapts to the anatomical contours and provides a homogeneous pressure distribution on the limb. The anatomical form of the residual limb’s distal end are uniformly reproduced.

Aqua-Liner

The 700 series of the Symphonie Aqua Liner is designed specifically for use in combination with the Symphonie Aqua System. The soft, 6 mm thick gel layer ensures good absorption of all forces acting on the residual limb. The medical-grade silicone is very friendly to the skin, anti-allergic and easy to clean.

Symphonie Aqua Lifter

Symphonie Aqua Lifter

The Symphonie Aqua Lifter is designed to facilitate height adjustment of all Symphonie Aqua systems. Despite the stable design, it can be moved easily on its integrated castors. The height adjustment range is from 0.00 to 500.00 mm. The maximum load capacity is 500 kg. The two handles afford the patient a secure hold during the casting process.
